Diane and Danny Lorenzo, invite you to join Danny on this ride to support Dan's Heroes Fund. Danny and Diane lost their son, Dan, to cancer after a three year courageous battle.. Dan was just 18 years old when he passed away in 2008. Danny and Diane turned their grief into a mission to help other young adults who are fighting cancer. By establishing Dan's Hero fund, they are helping very young adults who are too old for many pediatric programs but still not completely adults. Dan's Hero Fund provides mini-wishes to teenage and young adult patients in Memory of Daniel. The fund has provided computer equipment and software, cameras, musical instruments and other gifts to these young patients. The fund is organized under the auspices of the Embrace Kids Foundation.
On Saturday, June 9th, we will be riding to participate in the Embrace Kid's Foundation Heel to Heal 5K Run/Walk in Liberty State Park in Jersey City. We'll arrive and line up our bikes near the start. Bagels and coffee will be available. The walk/run is five kilometers (3.1 miles) along the scenic waterfront and will take about an hour to complete. You can participate in the walk/ run or enjoy some of the attractions (Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Train Museum, Open Sky 9/11 Memorial) at Liberty State Park while the walk/run is taking place. After the walk/run we'll enjoy the events at the finish including a catered barbecue lunch generously provided by Skylark Restaurant and Lounge. All participants will receive a commemorative bandana. Please come prepared to make a $20 (or more) donation per person to Dan's Heroes Fund. You can learn more about the event and Embrace Kids Foundation at the link provided above.

This is a Closed Event. Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. There are two types of activities:
Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member. Non-members considering joining the Chapter may ride as a guest of another member.
Open Events are those Chapter events to open to Chapter members, National H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.
